Lead Contamination at Home

Environmental Investigations specialise in conducting field-based investigations for lead. This would involve a site visit by one of Environmental Investigations experienced environmental scientists or engineers, who will collect soil or water samples from strategic locations (typically children's play areas and gardens). All samples are collected in accordance with published environmental sampling procedures, and delivered to a NATA-registered, environmental laboratory in your city.

Analytical results will generally be returned in the form of a letter report, which documents how the investigations was conducted and includes a plain-English interpretation of the identified lead concentrations in relation to EPA (1998) Health-Based Soil Investigation thresholds. Should the tested lead concentrations exceed the EPA Soil Quality Criteria for residential land use, then recommendations will be presented to advise of available options for managing any lead-affected soil or water, to prevent undue risks to human health or the environment.
